Export Bahrain Wins HRH Princess Sabeeka Bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa Award for Bahraini Women Advancement

Export Bahrain extends their most sincere gratitude and utmost respect to Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka Bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, wife of His Majesty the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women, for her outstanding role and contributions in raising the status of Bahraini women in all spheres of both private and public life, all of which have resulted in positioning women in high-growth fields of the future and defining the identity of Bahraini women in the region.

The national entity, Export Bahrain, was awarded the HRH Princess Sabeeka Bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa Award for Bahraini Women Advancement in the Small Enterprises – Private Sector category, during the inauguration ceremony of the Bahraini Women’s Monument “Impact” or “Athar”, for supporting the objectives of women advancement and empowerment.

Since its early days, Export Bahrain has cultivated a culture of equality that has proven to be a powerful multiplier of innovation and growth. The national entity implemented an equal opportunity policy and considered candidates and exporters based on efficiency and quality of performance rather than gender. Moreover, Export Bahrain has formed a committee under the name “Equal Opportunities Committee” which focuses on the integration of both women and men’s needs to achieve a direct effect on all aspects. Export Bahrain is at the forefront of this trend, proudly boasting a team with a majority of women at every level.

Export Bahrain has successfully achieved greater inclusion and empowerment for women over the years through their support of women exporters, with an impressive percentage of over 30% of Export Bahrain’s clients being businesses owned by women, including many that are thriving in industries with a male majority. This prestigious award reflects the tireless efforts of Export Bahrain to fulfil the career opportunities of business owners irrespective of their gender and boost gender diversity in all fields.

Commenting on this occasion, H.E. Mr. Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce, stated: “We are honored to receive this prestigious award from Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka Bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, President of the Supreme Council for Women, whose tireless work has been an inspiration to Bahraini women and girls for decades.
