Export Bahrain has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Portuguese Industrial Association (AIP), in a move aimed at expanding economic ties and strengthening trade and investment cooperation between the Kingdom of Bahrain and Portugal, opening new avenues for business growth and bilateral economic exchange.

The agreement aligns with Export Bahrain’s ongoing efforts to enhance the global presence of Bahraini products and services and to establish high-value international partnerships that strengthen the competitiveness of national companies and support their access to promising global markets, while further reinforcing collaboration with leading international institutions.

The MoU establishes a comprehensive institutional framework for cooperation centered on the exchange of market intelligence and investment insights, alongside the implementation of joint initiatives including business matchmaking programs, trade delegations and missions, participation in international exhibitions and economic forums, as well as specialized workshops and capacity-building sessions aimed at enhancing companies’ readiness and supporting their sustainable expansion into regional and global markets.

The partnership also reflects a shared commitment to fostering collaboration in innovation and entrepreneurship, in addition to exchanging best practices in export development, contributing to a more dynamic and sustainable trade ecosystem while supporting long-term economic growth in both Bahrain and Portugal.

On this occasion, Ms. Safa Sharif Abdulkhaleq, Chief Executive Officer of Export Bahrain, stated that the MoU represents a continuation of Export Bahrain’s efforts to expand its global partnership network and create practical pathways for Bahraini businesses to access strategic markets. She added that this collaboration will further enhance enterprise competitiveness and support companies in achieving sustainable international growth.
