Export Bahrain partners with Carrefour, owned and operated by Majid Al Futtaim in the Kingdom of Bahrain, to launch a platform showcasing Made in Bahrain products at local and international branches of the hypermarket. This partnership is in line with Export Bahrain’s vision to encourage exports and recognition of national product brands in markets across the region and the globe as part of its international retail buyer initiative.
With more regional and international hypermarkets set to join, this solution will be yet another addition to Export Bahrain’s rapidly expanding portfolio of services and partnerships that are designed to leverage upon the existing strengths of key players in the market that can help companies expand their b2b and b2c footprint. As part of this exclusive agreement, Carrefour will allocate designated areas to prominently display local made products in its hypermarkets in Bahrain and international branches. This offers businesses based in Bahrain the opportunity to tap into Carrefour’s customer database in Bahrain and globally, which further enhances their products’ visibility and realizes their export ambitions, helping to fuel the development of SMEs in the Kingdom.
Export Bahrain will be working closely with Carrefour to identify products that meet consumer and market requirements across all product segments. This will add to Carrefour’s caliber of products and increase the presence of quality local items for consumers under one roof.
Export Bahrain Acting Chief Executive, Ms. Safa Sharif AbdulKhaliq said: “We are confident that this strategic alliance will offer vast opportunities to businesses based in Bahrain, helping them in their pursuit of international markets and creating new global export opportunities. We look forward to creating a win-win scenario for our customers and partners, where multinational retailers can expand their offerings by gaining access to diverse competitively costed products, while businesses benefit from exposure and a larger consumer audience that could potentially lead to stronger international sales.”
Laurent Hausknecht, Country Manager of Carrefour Bahrain at Majid Al Futtaim Retail said: “We welcome Export Bahrain’s initiative which allows Carrefour to help businesses based in Bahrain reach international markets. This is part of our ongoing mission to help local talent prosper and support the growth of the communities we are operating in. The addition of Made in Bahrain products to our databases gives these businesses greater exposure as their products would be available at our numerous locations. This means that businesses can now reach a wide variety of potential customers, both within the Kingdom and abroad, which in turn adds quality to our offerings and helps to strengthen the Carrefour brand.”
