Export Bahrain has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Russian Export Center JSC during the 28th edition of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF 2025), held from June 18th to 21st. The signing ceremony took place in the presence of His Excellency Mr. Abdullah bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce and Chairman of Export Bahrain, alongside senior officials and dignitaries from both countries. The agreement was formalized by Ms. Safa Sharif Abdulkhaliq, Chief Executive Officer of Export Bahrain, and Ms. Veronika Nikishina, Chief Executive Officer of the Russian Export Center—signaling a shared commitment to strengthening bilateral economic collaboration.

This high-level MoU establishes a comprehensive framework for cooperation across a number of strategic areas aimed at boosting trade and investment between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Russian Federation. Key areas of collaboration include facilitating the internationalisation of Bahraini and Russian products and services, promoting reciprocal market access, and exchanging critical knowledge on business environments, regulatory systems, and investment opportunities. The agreement also supports joint participation in international exhibitions, trade forums, and economic conferences, along with coordinated promotional efforts and initiatives to explore and penetrate high-potential third markets.

This milestone partnership reflects the mutual ambition of both institutions to deepen commercial ties, stimulate sustainable trade flows, and unlock new growth avenues for exporters. It underscores Export Bahrain’s broader strategic objective of expanding its global footprint and reinforcing Bahrain’s position as a dynamic hub for international trade. The MoU serves as a platform to accelerate cross-border collaboration and drive forward joint initiatives that will elevate the global competitiveness of Bahraini enterprises particularly within the Russian market, which holds significant promise for growth and diversification.
